![]() Sargassum (seaweed) on the beach is a challenge throughout the entire caribbean and the grounds people do regularly clear the beach we actually compost all the seaweed, which is used to grow fresh local fruits and vegetables. The pools are cleaned early each morning and santitized I will note your comments about the pool not being up to standard during your stay. Both the North and South pools have been completely rennovated and offer a more peaceful setting. ![]() I understand that the main pool is quite popular and can be busy with all the scheduled activities that guests have come to expect. We are aware of the problem with some of the headboards and have already ordered an entire new bedding program, including bed frames, modern headboard and new mattresses. Since COVID, the hotel has gone through millions of dollars of revovations including 12 elevators all replaced, interior and exterior painting, upgraded outdoor lighting, music system in place among many other areas. We are saddend to hear that the hotel did not meet your expectations. Good day Hur5ty, firstly we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your comments on your recent stay with us. If you like a loud, gaudy, busy hotel this is for you! The breakfast was a buffet with both continental and cooked options - nothing special. The reception staff mentioned a hotel transfer to another beach because of the seaweed but on enquiring further I was advised that it was by private taxi only. Unfortunately the beach was not an option due to the huge amount of sargassum seaweed (the hotel is located on the Atlantic side of SK). There were 2 other pools on site but both were also fairly busy and noisy. Given the notices around the hotel about cleanliness this was surprising. The main pool had no shade apart from some deck chairs with small overhead shades and a few cabanas (extra $30 per day) which despite being unoccupied were unable to be booked as they were “unavailable for booking”! The main pool area was noisy with constant activity (bingo, loud music, games etc) and the pool water was not clean (say no more) - I would not swim in it and management said they were aware of the problem but nothing seemed to be done about it whilst I was there and I noticed another person complaining about the “brown scum”. ![]() The bed was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning worked well but did not drown out the noise from the next door room, the large atrium outside the room, and the pool area outside. The plastic headboard was peeling and the furniture badly scratched. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
